Services & Programs
A diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a life altering experience. It not only affects the patient, but also impacts the spouse, children, extended family, friends and work relationships. The Parkinson Foundation understands the difficult physical and emotional issues that accompany this devastating disease. If you or someone you know has PD, the Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania is here to help. In fact, for many people recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s, the Foundation is often the first call they make.
Every day, we receive calls regarding simple questions, research, resources, exercise classes and referrals to support groups, PD professionals and treatment centers.
We are dedicated to a single goal: assisting those with Parkinson’s and their families overcome the debilitating effects of PD. We are here to help people live with perseverance, grace and a renewed purpose in life. To do this, we offer assistance in three primary areas:
Your gift will be used to improve programs and services which benefit Parkinson patients, their families and caregivers.
We are committed to providing the public with the most up-to-date information available on Parkinson's disease, its causes, treatments, and opportunities for optimal health.
Support groups share information and offer mutual support. Group members are often the sounding board in talking out fears, concerns, or set backs and celebrating victories along the way.
