Instructor: Alexander Tressor

PDontheMove workout classes have been created to help people with Parkinson’s reclaim lost or compromised abilities. Each class focuses and addresses several key areas, including: balance, strength, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility and coordination.

The participants do not have to memorize complex exercises, or routines, while staying active throughout the duration of the class. PDontheMove is a truly moving experience that allows everyone to jump right in and start working out.

Alexander was born and raised in Moscow, Russia.

In 1976, his family immigrated to New York City and at the age of 17 he started studying ballet at Balanchine’s School of American Ballet in New York City. His theater credits on Broadway and in national and international tours include: Teddy and AliceOn Your Toes, Zorba, Woman of the Year, Ain’t Broadway Grand, Sophisticated Ladies, and Hello Dolly.

Since being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2007 at the age of 48, Alexander has been developing a program to find ways to slow down PD’s progression and help alleviate some of the symptoms. In 2016 PDontheMove.com was launched. Alexander holds seminars and lectures all over the world.  He was a keynote speaker at PFWPA’s Living Well Conferences in 2015 and 2019.

These days, Alexander continues his work as a ballet master and choreographer in the United States, Europe and Russia.  His teaching credits include New York University, Metropolitan Opera Ballet, Ballet Academy East, Broadway Dance Center, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Steps Studios in Manhattan.  He is a frequent Guest Ballet Master at the National Opera Theaters in Zagreb and Split in Croatia.
