During Parkinson's Awareness Month and every month, Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania and its supporters work to raise awareness of PD and provide services, support and education to those living with Parkinson’s disease and their families. In April, we had some exciting events to ramp up our efforts to spread the word about PD and its impact on our community and individuals.
On April 12th, volunteers at T-stations and various locations across the city give out tulips (the national symbol for PD) and PD awareness cards to the public. Our goal was to create a buzz around the city, to bring attention to the Foundation as a community resource and to raise funds for PFWPA programming.
We are also holding our annual event, Perseverance. Grace. Purpose. Awards on April 26th from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. at the Roberto Clemente Museum in the Strip District. The event recognizes remarkable individuals in the Parkinson’s community in Western PA. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
