More Than a Walk

Step Forward is more than just a walk, it is a community festival that brings over 1,000 people in the community together. Activities Include:

  • Live Music
  • Climbing Wall for all ages
  • Kids' 50-yard dash
  • Caricature artist
  • Face painting
  • Balloon animals
  • Animal Friends’ Therapy Dogs
  • Team tailgating
  • Appearances by some of your favorite Pittsburgh mascots
  • Food Trucks including: PGH Crepes, Sinkers and Suds, BRGR, Wok of Life, and Sheetz


Step Forward Walk to fight Parkinson’s Disease is the only walk held in the beautiful and historic Highland Park Reservoir. Your family can enjoy the landscaping and greenery in Pittsburgh’s East End on a fall morning.

Your participation in the walk can ensure that there are vital resources available to your 12,000 neighbors living with Parkinson's.

The Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania is the Pittsburgh region’s leading advocacy organization for Parkinson’s patients, their families and professional caregivers offering a variety of services related to Parkinson’s disease. Since 1995, the Parkinson’s community has relied on us for exercise, education and support programs as well as referrals to leading healthcare providers specializing in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease. The Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania is fully funded through private donations.
