CLASS DESCRIPTION
This virtual class is designed specifically for individuals with Parkinson’s disease, focusing on Ba Duan Jin (Eight Pieces of Brocade) a form of Qigong, and a simplified Tai Chi routine tailored to manage symptoms and enhance quality of life. Participants will learn gentle, low-impact movements that promote balance, flexibility, and energy flow. The class includes guided breathing techniques, mindful movements, and relaxation practices to help reduce stiffness, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being. Suitable for all fitness levels, the exercises can be done seated or standing, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
BIO
Mengjun (Kate) Wang is an International Tai Chi Champion and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Chinese Tai Chi Association,with over a decade of experience teaching Tai Chi and Qigong. She holds a Master of Science in Sports Medicine from an American university and a Master’s degree in Sports Training from a Chinese university. Kate has extensive experience working with individuals with Parkinson’s disease, specializing in adapting traditional Chinese practices to improve balance, flexibility, and overall well-being.
